We would just like to say THANK YOU to all the archers for coming to our shoot today. We hope you had a good day, a little damp I know, never nice.

Glad to offer our shoot to the NFAS Members in return for all the great shoots we have enjoyed this year. You are such nice folks, see you soon.

The shoot report and full results are now available along with a few photographs from the day.

Maintenance Day – Saturday 22nd September

Just a quick reminder that there is a maintenance day at the wood on Saturday. We’re  trying to get the wood in order for the upcoming shoot in October.

Work to be completed is general clearing and raking of targets 19-36. Targets 1-18 were done on the last maintenance day.

Please bring the usual tools if you have them. Rakes, gloves, shears, loppers, etc. Mark is going to attempt to cut back the hedgerow on the lane all being well.

Hope to see you there.

Pines Park Archers – 9th September 2012

The last chance for practice before the Nationals meant a trip to Sansom wood for Pines Park’s pre champs open shoot. Eight Artemis members arrived for the shoot on a sunny Sunday morning.

We were rewarded with a completely new course of thirty-six paper faces, no walk backs and a very good mix of distances. Not an easy course but a very enjoyable one. Thanks to all at Pines Park archers for a great day.

Well done to:

Wolverine Open Shoot – 2nd September 2012

Some Artemis members at the Wolverine presentation

Sunday saw eight members of Artemis attend Wolverine Archers’ open shoot. The weather started off a little bit damp but thankfully the trees provided sufficient cover to keep us mainly dry throughout the day.

The course was very enjoyable and some shots were more than a little bit challenging. At the end of the day when all the results were in, Artemis had a pretty good showing.

  • Helen Surman – 2nd Ladies Compound Limited
  • Andy Betts – 3rd Gents AFB
  • Matt O’Flynn – 3rd Gents Barebow
  • Emma Whitty – 3rd Ladies Barebow
  • Jacob Whitty – 3rd U12 Barebow

Well done everyone!

3D National Championships 2012

Congratulations to all the members of Artemis who attended the 3D National Championships this year at Osmaston Park.

The weather conditions on Sunday made it a somewhat challenging day with most people finishing the day completely soaked to the skin. • Kay-Leona Hodgkinson 2nd Ladies Longbow
    • Kate Meeson 2nd U16 Girls AFB
